Marion Paul is the President of KPAA and coordinates Keiki to Career Kauai, an island-wide movement to create great futures for Kauai’s youth. Before joining KPAA, Marion served as Executive Director of San Diego Social Venture Partners, a philanthropic group that selects innovative non-profits and invests funds and expertise to help them grow and achieve their mission. Previously, Marion served as Executive Director of the Equinox Center, a non-profit whose mission is to balance the San Diego region’s quality of life with the need for economic growth, protecting San Diego’s unique environment.

As Executive Vice President of Junior Achievement, Marion operated a $1.6 million non-profit and raised several million dollars to create a 10,000 square foot mini-city called BizTown, where students learn how to run businesses and manage their money.

Marion is active in the community and is a member of the Hanelei Bay Rotary Club and former board member of Junior Achievement Kaua`i.

Dana Hazelton

Dana Hazelton is the Director of Career Connections, a collaboration between our three public high schools, the business community, and non-profit organizations to create real-world learning experiences for students. Born and raised on Kauai, and a graduate of Kauai High School, Dana practiced as a registered nurse in the community for 10 years before working in education.

Dana worked as a health program coordinator and grant administrator at KCC.  At KCC, Dana worked closely with community and public health organizations, DOE and DOH, to promote two new academic certificate programs for school health aides and community health workers.  Dana brings a wealth of experience and a positive, can-do attitude. She is a passionate advocate for community health and for helping every person on Kaua`i get on their personal path for success.

Nannie Ann Apalla is our Program Manager. Nannie manages our Kekaha Elementary Early Literacy Project as well as manages communications for the Kaua`i Resilience Project. Nannie comes to us with a great communications and programs background. Nannie has a degree in Communications-Marketing from Chaminade University and spent a few years abroad to expand her skills by immersing herself in the challenge of living and studying in a Hamburg, Germany.

Nannie was raised on Kaua`i and is a graduate of Kaua`i High School.


She is looking forward to putting her learned skills and knowledge to use in helping our young people get a good start in life.
